3 wishesby ~AnnaPaar

it was my birthday.
while i set all alone and dreamt through the day
suddenly a white light arose in the corner of my room.

it really started looking like some kind of
dreamspace.
then, 3 shadows appeared and gradually
shaped themselves against the light.

"we are fairies", they spoke with kind voices,
while i still could not see them clearly
at all.

the first one bowed
and let something fall into the fruit jar,
my mother had given me.
"this is for love", a silken voice spoke,
"touch it or leave it."
i saw a faintly shining red ball.
when it touched the jar it emitted an artificial sound
like immensely frail glass.

the second shadow bowed
and let her present glide to the floor
that had turned radiant white from her presence.
"this is for reason", her bell-like voice spoke,
"look inside, and it won't let you go."
her sphere displayed intricate mathematical patterns,
that would always switch to new forms
and reached out for me with their cold blue glare.

the third shadow bowed,
her figure looked clumsier; her voice sounded earthen:
"this is for honey, i mean bread," she simply said.
what could that mean?
her ball was formless and shone like amber.

"unfortunately", the second fairy took the word again,
"you don't have 3 wishes, only one."

aha, this kind of thing usually turns out to be quite tricky.
so, yeah, what should i do?
